An artists impression of how the Peel Hall Street development could look
Plans to build 12 new affordable homes on a plot of empty land in the middle of Deepdale have been lodged.
Community Gateway have applied for permission to create a new development on the site of what was Deepdale House before it was demolished.
The plot of land between Peel Hall Street, Deepdale Road and Golbourne Street measures over half an acre and is currently unused.
Gateway have been consulting with local residents about a use for the land since September 2010 but now feel they have a scheme which fits the use of the site.
Of the 12 new houses there would be eight new two bedroom houses and four three bedroom houses.
Croft Goode architects in their proposal, on behalf of Gateway, say the development would look to “provide a high quality and attractive residential development with access from Peel Hall Street.”
The Deepdale area is already one of the most densely populated part of the city and the plans state all the homes will have off-street parking.
The plans are available to view on the council website. Anyone wanting to give their feedback on the plans should write to devcon@preston.gov.uk quoting reference numver 06/2013/066 by Saturday 2 March 2013.
