Preston today witnessed hundreds of red clad runners full of the Christmas spirit dashing through the streets of the city enjoying the fun Guild Santa Dash (image above courtesy of Bernie Blackburn).
It was part of the 2012 Season’s Santa Dash Charity Fun Run on behalf of St Catherineās Hospice.
Santas, who were seen off from the start line by former Preston North End star Graham Alexander, were sponsored to raise as much money for the Hospice as possible. Funds raised on the day go towards providing specialised palliative and end of life care for people from Preston, Chorley, Longridge and South Ribble, who are living with conditions which can be treated but not cured.
Schools were introduced to the Dash for the first time this year with 11-18-year-olds from Fulwood Academy taking part. The school voted on which charity they wanted to support this year and the hospice at Lostock Hall received the most votes.
