A talk from and a chance to meet best selling author of the Rebus novels, Ian Rankin
Rankin’s Inspector John Rebus detective novels have sold millions of copies worldwide in 20 languages. Born in Scotland in 1960, Rankin is a contributor to BBC2’s ‘Newsnight Review’, he also presented his own TV series, ‘Ian Rankin’s Evil Thoughts’. He recently received the OBE for services to literature, opting to receive the prize in his home city of Edinburgh, where he lives with his partner and two sons.
The visit has been organised by the Cultural Services team at Lancashire County Council in Preston and will take place at the County Hall.
Later in November the Cultural Services team has arranged for a presentation by Charles Dickens biograher Claire Tomalin as part of the national Dickens Readers’ Day at Lancaster Library and also two highly-regarded North West poets are coming to libraries in various parts of the county.
