Two teenage boys from Preston have been charged by police for stealing from a number of vehicles across the city.
AdvertisementA 16-year-old from Fulwood and a 17-year-old from Ashton will appear at Preston Youth Court next year.
The 16-year-old is charged with two cases of stealing from a motor vegicle and an assault.
The 17-year-old is charged with stealing a satnav.
Police are warning residents in Fulwood, Lea and Cottam to be vigilant after the thefts took place in these areas.
Inspector Dave Brown said: “We are making progress with our policing and investigation efforts following a series of car crime incidents during the last few weeks in the city.
“However, residents must remember it is essential that they keep their vehicles locked-up and nothing is left on display. Failure to do so will make criminals more likely to target your car or van.
“These incidents have mainly occurred in the northern part of Preston so I would ask residents in Fulwood, Lea and Cottam to especially heed this advice.”
The 16-year-old will appear in court on Monday, while the 17-year-old appears in court on Wednesday. Both boys have been released on bail.
