Global Rainbow Lights Up Preston (Photos, Video)

Last week we covered the unveiling of the Global Rainbow, a colourful symbol of the upcoming Guild and Olympics.


The rainbow is made up of seven parallel beams of powerful lasers that represent the seven colours of the rainbow.

The installation marks the start of the Cultural Olympiad and hundreds of cultural events happening across the North West as part of the London 2012 Olympics.

Below you can take a look at some great photos taken by William Matthews which can’t really be described as anything other than stunning. I’ve also included a video interview with the artist who designed the Global Rainbow, Yvette Mattern.
