Gary Cluskey is another member of drugs gang jailed for pushing nearly £200,000 of class A drugs across the North West
The war against drugs in Lancashire scored another success today as another member of a Preston drugs gang was put behind bars.
Gary Cluskey of Chapel Lane, New Longton, was given seven years and four months after pleading guilty to supply class A drugs.
He was arrested as part of a police crackdown on drug dealing in February, where homes in Lancashire, Merseyside and Cumbria were raided.
The raids discovered cocaine and other class A drugs with a street value of more than £200,000.
Cluskey was part of a gang who blighted the community of New Longton, just outside Preston, for years.
Yesterday three other members of the gang received 16 years in jail for their part in selling drugs around the North West.
Det Insp Andy Black from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (TITAN) said: “These individuals had an adverse affect on the communities of Lancashire and Cumbria through their supply of drugs.
“Now that these individuals are behind bars, I believe it has left the communities safer places to live.”
Anyone with information about drugs in their community can contact their local police or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
