Preston Blog’s music, film and entertainments correspondent, Kirsty Higginson, takes a look at what a lot of Prestonians were watching on Wednesday night – The Brit Awards.
AdvertisementWow, what a fantastic night the Brit Awards 2009 managed to pull off.
In previous years it seems to have been predominantly overshadowed by specific music tastes but this year has been an exception.
We had a bit of pop music winning with Girls Aloud’s ‘The Promise’ picking up best single, Katy Perry winning best international female, and rock legends, not to mention my favourite band of the moment, Kings of Leon picking up two international music awards.
Duffy may have stole the show with her hat-trick of awards but I think ‘Gavin and Stacey’ stars James Corden and Matthew Horne should have picked something up for their effort ‘performing’ a dance routine to one of Kylie’s hits at the start of show.
Seeing out the show we were treated to a spectacular walk down memory lane as
Pet Shop Boys, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, performed a medley of their hits, like ‘Go West’ and ‘What have I done to deserve this?’
