Tram Road and Lancaster Canal – heritage walk

This is a flat route and easy going, but good walking shoes are still recommended. There is the old tram road route at the start of the walk, the site of the original Preston Basin, hidden bridges, Lime Kilns and other local history from the 19th and 20th Centuries that is connected to the canal.
Meet in the centre of Winckley Square, 9.30 a.m. start.
On street metered parking in and around Winckley Square, PR1 2JT (5 mins walk from Preston Railway Station), or nearby Fishergate Centre car park (chargeable).
This walk is organised in conjunction with Lancaster Canal Trust and Inland Waterways Association.
