Preston roads flooded after heavy rainfall as River Ribble flood alert triggered

News and information for the area of Penwortham. Although not politically in Preston it is perhaps spiritually. Penwortham is just across the River Ribble from Preston but many Penworthiams class themselves as Prestonians, although they are part of South Ribble Borough Council.

The flood alert covers the river from Samlesbury through to Penwortham and also includes the River Darwen at Walton-le-Dale. As there are reports of surface water flooding on numerous roads in the city.
