The Great Northern Creative Festival comes to UCLan

The Great Northern Creative Festival will be making its return for the fourth time at the University of Central Lancashire.

The Festival is a special event that showcases the creative talent in Media, Film, Photography, Journalism and Performance.

The free event, for students and members of the public, will be taking place from Monday 13 November – Saturday 18 November.

The Festival will hold a variety of performances, workshops, masterclasses, networking, animation and inspiration.

A spokesperson for the Great Northern Creative Festival said: “The Festival has evolved from a commitment to promote and showcase the creative talent that has been developed at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston and to also introduce to the world the fantastic students and professionals that we have working at the University, whilst opening our doors to the City, to the North and the world beyond.”

There will be a range of special guests attending the Festival.

Monday 13 November will see talks from stuntman, producer and actor Mark Strange and TV star and actor George Costigan.

On Tuesday 14 November there will be a Sitcom Writing Masterclass with award-winning professional scriptwriter Simon Crowther, along with discussions with Games Design Guests.

BAFTA award winning writer, producer and poet Henry Normal will be talking about his career in TV, Film, Radio, and live performance on Wednesday 15 November.

John Thomson, actor and animation voice artist, will be joining the festival on Thursday 16 November to discuss his journey to success, talking about voice acting techniques and tips for animation directors.

Friday 17 November will see an audience with Join Brian Klein, Director of some of the UK’s biggest TV shows, as he exclusively chats with UCLan staff, students and friends.

The Great Northern Creative Festival comes to UCLan

On Saturday 18 November you will have the exciting chance to pitch your animations to the industry with the Animation Conference that is taking place, in which industry professionals will be coming into UCLan to hear your ideas and give you real feedback.

Some of the professionals include Executive Producer, Animations and Acquisitions for CBeebies, Jackie Edwards, along with writer and animator, Candy Guard and Director of Kilogramme, Jon Turner.
