The former Fives building appears to have closed once again after its latest reincarnation has failed.

Taken on by the same team as the Eastern Charm restaurant which operated from the basement of the building the windows have been boarded up at the Guildhall Street building.

In November last year it was announced all three floors of what was once Fives had re-opened as The Palace.

Within it were Seventana Lounge, a venue space, 7 Ounces a burger and steak restaurant on the ground floor and the Thousand and One Nights shisha area on the top floor.

The venues appear to have closed in late April with no notice.

Blog Preston made repeated efforts to contact the operators of The Palace but received no response.

It’s not clear whether the Eastern Charm restaurant itself remains trading – with no social media activity since the start of January. It had been developing a strong reputation for Middle Eastern food.

Dating back to 1878 the grade-II listed Fives building was the former Preston Conservative Club.
