Three people are in hospital after a serious crash shut a busy route in Ingol.

Tag Lane remains closed with police at the scene, after a van hit a car and another van close to the turn with Village Green Lane. Police gave an update on Friday morning to say one man had been arrested and a pensioner was in hospital with serious injuries.

The crash took place around 11am on Thursday (8 May) with the car being overturned on the pavement due to the impact from the force of the van.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service sent two crews to the scene who cut free three people from the wreckage of the vehicles. Crews worked at the scene for around three hours.

The car involved was severely damaged in the incident and Blog Preston understands the occupants have serious injuries.

Preston Police confirmed their officers were continuing accident investigation work at the scene during Thursday afternoon – with the road re-opening around 7.30pm.

No arrests have been made at this stage according to police.
