Polling stations have now closed and Preston has voted in its new representatives at Lancashire County Council level.
Lancashire County Council is divided into 82 divisions – or electoral wards – all bar two of which elect just one county councillor to represent that area at County Hall. Nine of those divisions are in Preston.
As Reform surged across the city – it wasn’t a light blue wipeout in Preston, more of a mixed picture. Three independent candidates were elected, Reform took two seats, the Lib Dems three and Labour one. The Conservatives failed to defend or win any of their previous seats.
