A Preston Men’s Mental Health Charity Football Team are looking for somewhere to train through summer.

Old Knackers Football Club have previously raised thousands for charities such as epilepsy, and cancer charities, since forming in 2019.

They currently play their monthly charity games at Penwortham Priory and they run weekly session at Preston College through winter, whilst trying to reduce their costs by playing on grass in summer.

They have been seeking a summer home since last year, but the lack of help has led to them continuing to pay for pitch hire and therefore limiting their donations.

One of the founders, Neil Procter said: “The lads at OKFC are a great bunch and the sessions are a lifeline to us all.

“We’ve all struggled with our mental wellness, so these sessions are an essential part of our wellness. It’s a chance to let off steam and escape the pressure of life.

“We’re asking people to help us find a piece of grass, a school playing field or even a plot of land that we can use.

“Training for free through summer keeps our cost down so keeps or sessions affordable.”

The players include suicide survivors, people in eating disorder recovery and people battling anxiety and depression.

If you can help OKFC they can be contacted via their social media platforms here.
