Emergency services are on their way to the scene of a car fire on the motorway network.

The fire, first reported at around 1.05pm this afternoon (10 May) is on the M6 northbound close to junction 33.

The vehicle affected is on the hard shoulder but traffic is starting to build on approach to junction 33 and there are now some delays.

Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service are in attendance.

Elsewhere, there are delays on the M6 and M61 where they merge at around junction 30 of the M6. There is not thought to be an incident attached to these delays and it is instead weekend congestion.
