A mum-of-four has raised £600 for Rosemere Cancer Foundation in Blackpool’s half marathon.
Completed in honour of her dad, Daniella Stewart ran in a baseball cap printed with a picture of her father Peter so he could be present despite not being well enough to travel to the event.
Peter was diagnosed with kidney cancer in January 2024 and is currently undergoing treatment at Rosemere Cancer Centre.

Despite him being told he only had four to six months to live, Daniella said: “He is still fighting to be with us.”
“He is one of the strongest people I have ever met. I am very proud of him for everything he is fighting through.
“His cancer has spread to other parts of his body, but he keeps on fighting every single day.”
Daniella, who works at Cardinal Newman College, only took up running last December for her mental health to then decide to raise money and challenge herself through the half-marathon event.
She was cheered over the finish line with her husband, children, family members, and her father encouraging her on from his home in Ashton-on-Ribble.
Yvonne Stott, events and community fundraiser for Rosemere Cancer Foundation, said: “Well done to Daniella for completing her first half marathon after only five months of running. It’s a massive achievement.”
