A long-awaited cycle path connection in the city is just weeks away from being completed.
Work is ongoing to provide a direct link from Preston Railway Station into Avenham and Miller Park.
Lancashire County Council began work on Monday 31 March on the section of fencing near the Vicars Bridge site.

Blog Preston first reported on the cycle path plan back in 2016 when the demolition of the 1970s bridge was being prepared for.
The county council has now finally got around to doing the work.
A spokesman for Lancashire County Council said: “This short section of cycle link will create a direct connection through the park between South Ribble and the railway station. The work is due to take around six weeks and we will tell people when it’s open for people to use.”
The map below shows how the connection will go through running through the car park at the back of the railway station and Fishergate Shopping Centre car park, under East Cliff and directly into Avenham Park.
