A driver was caught travelling at over 165mph on roads to the west of Preston.
Police reported an incident at 12.40am this morning (27 April) where they had stopped what appears to be a Mercedes AMG GT on roads close to junction 3 of the M55 about to head southbound in the direction of Kirkham on Fleetwood Road.
They issued a warning after the incident stating that drivers travelling at those speeds will be ‘robustly policed’. The vehicle in question was stopped through the efforts of officers from the road policing unit, the dog unit and the road crime team.

A spokesperson for police said: “If you decide to drive on Lancashire’s roads at over 165mph, you will be robustly policed, subjected to Roads Policing Tactics and you will be prosecuted….
“This vehicle was stopped by officers from the Roads Policing Unit, Police Dog Unit and Road Crime Team after doing just that.”
