M6 tailbacks after earlier crash as Easter Bank Holiday traffic builds

A lunchtime crash on the M6 southbound is continuing to cause delays back towards Forton services.

National Highways North West is showing delays from Junction 32 for Broughton all the way back towards Junction 33.

The crash took place around 1pm on Thursday (17 April) and is described as ‘damage-only’ by police when contacted by Blog Preston.

Meanwhile there’s also congestion building on the M6 northbound from Junction 29 up to Junction 31 as holidaymakers begin an early getaway for the Bank Holiday weekend.

The M61 spur through to the M6 is also showing congestion as of 2.15pm on Thursday.
