Longridge’s iconic Dog Inn pub is set to reopen this Wednesday (9 April) under new management and with a new food-led offering.

Hospitality industry veteran Jonny Waters, who lives in Longridge, has taken over the business after it closed just after Christmas.

The Market Place venue, which stands opposite the top of Berry Lane, will now be known as Hilltop Brasserie and is aiming to be a modern gastropub with good food and great service at the core of its offering, according to Jonny.

He said: “We are aiming to serve great food and also provide great service, which is really important to me. There is nothing like this in Longridge.”

For the past 14 years Jonny ran the Craven Heifer at Kelbrook, near Colne, and prior to that he had a stint as landlord of the Weavers Arms, which sat just down from the Dog Inn and closed some years ago.

Hilltop Brasserie, which will incorporate the Dog Inn name in its signage, will serve food from midday until 8.30pm and open Wednesday to Sunday.

The building itself is owned by local businessman Ben Lee and Jonny believes the Hilltop offering will bring something new to Longridge.
