The M6 at Preston was briefly closed during tea time on Good Friday afternoon as police swarmed the motorway.
Preston Police confirmed the motorway was shut in both directions near to Junction 31 for the Tickled Trout.
Traffic was brought to a halt northbound and southbound M6 shortly after 5pm on Friday (18 April).

Police were responding to a concern for welfare call.
Heavy traffic throughout Good Friday was brought to a halt while officers worked to resolve the incident.
A police spokesperson confirmed the incident was resolved safely and all traffic released by around 5.40pm.
Throughout Good Friday morning and afternoon the M6, and M61, saw long delays as motorists headed away for the Easter holiday weekend. The M61 spur from Chorley to the M65 saw long delays during Friday lunchtime as a car fire shut the motorway northbound.
