A stolen motorbike was recovered by police after being driven ‘erratically’ around the city centre.
Officers saw the bike on Friargate at around 8pm on Tuesday (18 March) being driven in a manner they described as erratic.
The driver, who had covered his face, mounted the pavement and abandoned the vehicle and ultimately escaped.

Efforts are now being made to track down the driver and reunite the bike with its owner.
A spokesperson for police said: “This motorbike has been seized after it was seen being driven erratically down Friargate.
“It happened at around 8pm on Tuesday night. On spotting our officer, the rider, who was wearing a face covering, mounted the pavement before abandoning the vehicle and running away.
“The vehicle was recently stolen and efforts are now being made to reunite it with its owner. It is also being forensically examined to try to identify the suspect and bring them to justice!”
