Preston North End have drawn Aston Villa as they seek to keep their season alive with their run in the FA Cup.

A 3-0 win over a poor Burnley side at Deepdale this weekend saw Preston North End reach the quarter-final of the FA Cup for the first time since the 1965/66 season

It was Manchester United – who weren’t in the draw for the quarter-final after losing to Fulham on penalties – who were victorious in 65/66.

The fixtures will take place across the weekend of March 29 and 30, 2025. Preston North End are the sole representatives from outside the top tier left in the competition.

It’s a positive draw – and one Preston North End shouldn’t be afraid of given Villa’s troubled away record – but unfortunately Kaine Kesler-Hayden will not be eligible to play against his parent club.

If Preston were to go one step further and reach the semi-final, it would be the first time they have done so since 63/64 when they ultimately reached the final.

The FA Cup semi-finals would also mean playing at Wembley Stadium, which Preston North End haven’t done since turning over Swindon Town to achieve promotion back to the Championship in 2015.
