Frank Rainford has tackled his first of a trio of races to raise money for Preston Charity, Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
Frank, a dad of four, is racing to raise funds in thanks for the charity’s treatment of his wife, a consultant histopathologist at the Royal Preston Hospital.
He has currently raised over £1,000 out of his £1,500 goal.

Frank said: “My wife, Bianca da Gama-Rose, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 and underwent radiotherapy, chemotherapy and surgery at Rosemere Cancer Centre.”
To complete his trio of races, Frank must finish the Chester Half Marathon in May and Marathon in October.
He added that his younger brother is going to run both the remaining races with him after his recent first race completion.
