Uncertainty surrounds the future of a shop on Berry Lane, Longridge, following the closure of the Subway sandwich shop.
Subway shut its doors earlier in March after two years of trading. The store was owned by franchisee Jayne Shreeve, who is also responsible for the Subway branch off Garstang Road in Catterall.
The closure of the eatery, which sits opposite the Booths supermarket and petrol station towards the bottom of Berry Lane, prompted a flurry of comments on social media about what the future might hold for the premises.

With many comments praising the quality of local independent sandwich shops already trading in Longridge, others were clear about what they did not want to see.
“Hopefully it is now not a vape shop or dodgy barbers,” said one Facebook user, while others were keeping their fingers crossed for a Greggs or even a McDonalds or KFC.
