International music star John Parr will join the next independent film night at The Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre.

The independent film nights take place on the last Tuesday of each month in association with the Lytham International Film Festival.

Parr’s directorial debut film, Unconquered, will be screened on Tuesday 25 March, along with a selection of other short films curated by Ed Greenberg, director of the Lytham International Film Festival.

Afterwards, Parr will take questions from the audience after the screening with a virtual Q&A session.

Unconquered is the story of two elite soldiers who were severely injured, both mentally and physically, in the line of duty. The film follows their incredible journey out of the darkness through the love of family, the bond of brotherhood and their shared passion, sport.

Parr is best known for his hit, St Elmo’s Fire (Man in Motion), which featured on the soundtrack of the 1985 film starring Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy and Demi Moore.

Just as that song told the story of Rick Hansen’s epic circumnavigation of the world in a wheelchair, Unconquered carries the torch onward to bring light to what the human spirit can achieve from the depths of despair.

Parr also wrote The Minute I Saw You from Three Men and a Baby, and Restless Heart from the Arnold Schwarzenegger film The Running Man.

Tickets for the event are available from The Flower Bowl website.
