A Fulwood school has been crowned winner of an eight-day UK maths competition.
Archbishop Temple High School, Fulwood, won the recent 2024/2025 10ticks Mental Maths contest.
The school answered 384,756 questions during the competition to claim top spot and was awarded a £500 cash prize, a trophy, and individual medals.
Mr Hewitt, a maths teacher from the school said: “In the end, Archbishop students secured a fantastic 1st place after a nail-biting final few days. Well, done for all your hard work!”

The winners and a school in Lincolnshire were neck and neck throughout and remained a close call up until the last day of the competition.
In addition, the managing director of 10ticks, Ian Fisher, said: “We hope the prizes will provide valuable support for schools and encourage even more students to develop their arithmetic skills in the future.
“Congratulations to all the schools that took part, and especially to our well-deserved winners!”
