There are delays in both directions on the M6 after a car caught fire.
The incident is on the M6 southbound close to junction 31with delays building back to junction 31A as a result. Two lanes are closed while emergency services deal with the incident.
However, there are also delays on the M6 northbound around the incident due to slow-moving traffic. These are not as impactful.

The incident happened before 8.30am this morning (20 March).
A spokesperson for police said: “The M6 at junction 31 southbound currently has two lanes closed due to a vehicle fire. At this time traffic is heavy and the fire service are currently working to extinguish the fire.
“Please avoid the area if you can and we will provide an update when possible.”
