Emergency services in Preston city centre were dealing with two separate and unrelated incidents at the weekend.
Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service and Lancashire Constabulary were both on Fishergate at around 2.45pm on Sunday afternoon (16 March), with members of the public concerned a serious incident was taking place.
Blog Preston understands that the two fire engines in attendance were dealing with a false alarm that rang for around nine minutes.
Meanwhile officers from Lancashire Constabulary were dealing with a separate incident unrelated to the false alarm.
Officers could be seen speaking with local businesses around Fishergate after the latest shoplifting incident at Boots.
