Signs have gone up at the building which was the old Aldi on Corporation Street in Preston.

Aldi left the unit at the Corporation Street mini retail park early last year in April to open on Preston Docks.

The charity megastore is set to open in mid-March.

British Heart Foundation is converting the unit into a new home and fashion store which is due to open on the 13 March.

Simon Mitchelson, area manager for the British Heart Foundation said: “We’re incredibly excited about opening the first BHF Home and Fashion store in Preston, which will enable customers to shop for all their furniture and clothing needs under one roof.

“We’ve got a variety of clothing across the fashion departments, some great pieces for the home and garden and all at great prices. We collect from the community and make sure items are refreshed and going to a new home. All the proceeds go towards funding BHF research, benefiting people throughout Lancashire and UK,

“The layout and merchandising is easy to navigate in clearly defined sections and rails making it an enjoyable shopping experience for the growing number of customers who are choosing to browse and buy quality preloved items that are often unique, while helping to reduce waste and landfill.

“There is also a customer collection point at the front of the store and remember if you can’t quite fit anything in your boot, speak to a member of the store team to arrange a home delivery.”

The charity’s fashion store on Orchard Street near Preston Markets shut its doors a few weeks ago.

Now, their furniture shop on Friargate is having a huge closing down sale ahead of the relocation. The final day of trading will be Saturday (8 March).

The charity is looking for new volunteers for the megastore which will be a ‘home and fashion’ destination and have a dedicated donation and collection point.
