Food and Travel with James on You Tube came to Preston to try out Deans bakery on Blackpool Road.
He chose a range of pies to test out including a pork pie, meat and potato pie and the Preston delicacy, butter pie.
Starting off with the pork pie, James said it was very good, nice and salty with crispy pastry and commented on how good the jelly was.

The Butter pie was next. Despite being extremely hot and burning his fingers, James said it was very nice and has very good pieces of potato.
He said; “That’s a quality butter pie that.”
Finally he tested the meat and potato pie which was again very hot but was packed with meat and James was very impressed.
After the initial taste test, he went through each pie one by one.

The pork pie was said to have a great glaze on it, was packed with ingredients and had a decent bake on it with no soggy bottom. He highly recommends the pork pie.
The Preston or Lancashire butter pie was ‘superb’ with a nice crispy pastry, very well made potato and butter, good quality ingredients. He said the bakery “has done Preston proud with that one.”
The meat and potato pie was packed with meat, had good pastry, good layers of potato and was good quality.
In James’ overall review he said: “It’s a tricky one this. I’m going to give those a 9.8 out of ten.”
He told his audience to go and give the bakery a try if they are ever in the area.
His total price for the three pies came to £6.55.
Deans bakery shared the video online calling it and unbiased review and they said the 9.8 rating was “brilliant.”
