M6 stopped between junction 30 and junction 29 due to multi-vehicle crash

Traffic is completely stopped on the M6 southbound after a multi-vehicle crash.

The incident, first reported by witnesses at around 8.48am this morning (February 9), reportedly involves a number of vehicles and a van.

Traffic is stopped between junction 30 (m61) and junction 29 for Bamber Bridge as a result of the collision and there is already a significant amount of congestion as a result, almost as far back as junction 31.

Emergency services are in attendance at the scene of the crash.
