Delays are expected until mid-morning as motorists heading to Preston became caught up in an early morning closure of the M6.

A crash near to Junction 31A on the northbound carriageway closed three lanes from shortly before 7am on Monday (3 February).

All northbound routes through Preston have experienced intense congestion as a result with the A6 from Junction 29 through to the Broughton interchange congested with London Road taking the majority of the traffic as motorway drivers looked for alternative routes.
