Emergency services rushed to the scene of a house fire in Cottam overnight.
Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service and officers from Lancashire Constabulary were called to Hoyles Lane at Cottam at around 9.56pm last night (17 February).
People were asked to avoid the area while crews used hose reels to extinguish the fire. Police implemented road closures and a number of properties on Buckthorn Drive were evacuated for a short period of time.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service said: “At 21:56 on 17th February 2025, three fire engines from Fulwood, Preston, and Penwortham attended a domestic building fire on Hoyles Lane, Preston.
“Firefighters are wearing breathing apparatus and using two hose reels, and a ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. Crews remain in attendance.”
A spokesperson for police said overnight: “We are currently assisting the fire service with a fire on Hoyles Lane, Cottam. Please avoid the area, and we will provide an update when we can.”
