Arc Cinema Preston: Ticket prices, Hypersense screenings, parking and everything you need to know

Preston’s The Arc cinema is now officially open on Tenterfield Street next to Preston Market.

In the heart of the city centre within the Animate complex and it is also close to the Bus Station.

It was opened on Thursday February 20 by Preston film and animation legend Nick Park.

Brian Gilligan, Director of the Arc cinema, said: “It’s an honour for The Arc Cinema to be opening within Animate in the heart of Preston city centre and we’re excited to become an integral part of this vibrant community.”

Here’s all the info you need on the new Preston cinema, including food and drink, accessibility, discounts and more.

Ticket prices

For 2D screenings the prices are: £8.95 for adults off peak or £9.95 on peak, £6.95 for teens ages 13-17 off-peak or £7.95 for on peak, £5.95 for children off peak or £6.95 on peak, £6.95 for seniors ages 65+ off peak or £7.95 on peak.

They also have a student deal of £5.95 off peak or £7.95 on peak and this is for any student ages 18+ with valid student ID.

A family deal of one adult and one child for £5.95pp off peak or £6.95 pp off peak. There’s also a kids club price of £3.50 for certain screenings.

Off peak is classed as Monday to Thursday before 4pm.

What is Hypersense?

Hypersense includes electric recliner seating, Immersive surround sound, 4K laser projection, giant wall to wall screen and lots of leg room.

For Hypersense screenings, it is £2 extra per person and for 3D screenings it is an extra one pound per person and one pound per pair of glasses.

Booking

You can book the cinema via the Arc cinema website or app or by turning up at the cinema.

Films on during opening week

Films currently available at the cinema are A Complete Unknown, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, Captain America: Brave New World, Dog Man, Heart Eyes, Mufasa: The Lion King, Paddington in Peru, The Monkey and We Live In Time.

Snack options

Snacks from popcorn, Pick N Mix, Nachos and ice cream are available inside along with a full drinks range.

You cannot take your own food and drink in, only food and drink items purchased in The Arc Cinema can be consumed on the premises.

Accessibility

There is a lift from the ground floor entrance of The Arc up to the first floor, it is then all one level.

There is a Changing Places toilet within the cinema complex which is fully accessible.

All screens feature a Loop system for users of suitable hearing aids.

Monthly sensory screenings are held with adjusted sound and lighting creating a calm and supportive atmosphere.

Subtitled screenings are held each Monday evening for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community.

Where can I park?

There’s a car park attached to Animate which can be accessed via Ringway or Tenterfield Street.

Anyone attending the cinema receives three-hours free parking, you enter your registration upon entry to the cinema itself.

What else is there?

The Arc is attached to the all new Animate leisure complex with multiple restaurants. It is also next to the Market which has a range of food and entertainment stalls and The Orchard Bar.
