An online workshop will help Prestonians discover how to launch a successful culture or sports-based crowdfunding campaign.

Crowdfund Lancashire sees Lancashire County Council use Spacehive to help locals create, fund and deliver project ideas. The programme is all about helping to make the county a great place to live, work and prosper.

Projects across Preston and beyond can pitch for up to £15,000 from the Lancashire Culture and Sport Fund, plus individuals can pitch for up to £1,500.

Blog Preston used Crowdfund Lancashire to fundraise to grow our arts, culture and events coverage.

After a successful campaign, we relaunched our what’s on section, including a new event listings, and have since published over 250 additional stories.

Co-editor Kate Rosindale said: “If you have an idea in mind – whether big or small – for how to make a difference in your local area, I’d highly recommend using Crowdfund Lancashire. I attended the online workshop last year and it was a huge help in making sure our campaign was successful.”

This story was made possible by you, our readers, and a host of organisations in the city, through our Crowdfund Lancashire appeal, which unlocked support from the Lancashire Culture and Sport Fund provided by Lancashire County Council. You can see all our coverage and, if you know of an arts project or event in the city we should be covering, you can submit it for our event listings and/or send details to contactus@blogpreston.co.uk for us to cover it as a story on the Blog.
