A teenage boy was rescued by emergency services after becoming stuck up a crane at the city’s Docks.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and Preston Police were called to the structure near the Swing bridge shortly before 8pm on Wednesday (22 January) in Ashton-on-Ribble.

The fire service spent half-an-hour getting the 17-year-old boy down safely.

Blog Preston understands there was no concern for welfare as part of the incident. The boy had become stuck at a height after climbing up on the crane.

A fire service spokesperson said: “The incident involved a male who was stuck on top of a crane. Crews used one aerial ladder platform to rescue the male and were at the scene for Thirty-five minutes.”
