Stolen car found in flames on rural Preston road

A stolen car was found on fire in a rural road between Preston and Longridge during the early hours of Tuesday (21 January) morning.

Preston Police closed off Brabiner Lane between Haighton and Whittingham at 5.43am.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service put out the fire in the car, a Ford Puma.

The road was closed for around an hour while emergency services worked at the scene with early morning motorists reporting being turned around when trying to go between Grimsargh and Longridge.

Brabiner Lane is fully re-opened and the car has been recovered by police.
