Roads around Beacon Fell have been shut due to icy conditions.

Preston Police say they have closures in force in North Nook Lane.

Conditions have continued to remain treacherous as temperatures dropped below freezing since Sunday 5 January and have barely risen since.

The closure of North Nook Lane, at the junction with Beacon Fell Road and Bleasdale Road means drivers can’t enter or leave the Beacon Fell Country Park via that entrance or exit.

All access to Beacon Fell must be via Carwags Lane and Rigg Lane side.
