Preston North End’s third round FA Cup tie has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.
North End were due to meet Charlton Athletic at Deepdale at 3pm on Saturday (11 January) but a pitch inspection today (10 January) found that the surface was not viable.
Weather conditions are not expected to improve into Saturday meaning the game has been called off early ‘in consideration of travel plans for supporters, and the players and staff of Charlton Athletic’.

The fixture will now take place at 7.45pm on Tuesday (14 January) with refunds available in-person from the ticket office, over the phone on 0344 856 1966, or by emailing ticketoffice@pne.com until kick off.
A spokesperson for the club said: “Despite the tireless work of the club’s grounds staff to prepare the pitch for this fixture, the sub-zero temperatures throughout the week and overnight on Thursday mean the surface remains frozen.
“With similar conditions expected again on Friday evening into Saturday morning, a decision has been made early in consideration of travel plans for supporters, and the players and staff of Charlton Athletic.”
