Police uncover ‘large quantity of cash’ when car stopped on M6 near Samlesbury junction

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of money laundering after cash was found stuffed in a car on the M6.

Preston Police stopped a silver Peugeot 308 on the motorway near to Samlesbury at Junction 31 of the M6.

A brown paper bag was found inside the vehicle, when the stop took place on Wednesday 22 January afternoon, holding a ‘large quantity of cash’.

Two men, both from Bradford and aged 33 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of money laundering.

They have since been released on bail while enquiries continue.
