A fast-paced comedy of mistaken identity, memory loss and tangled relationships full of ‘hilarious twists and turns’ is coming to Preston.

Amateur dramatic society The Hall Players will perform Forget-Me-Knot by David Tristram at its base, Preston Playhouse, next week.

The play follows Robert Zeinfeld, who is found wandering the streets of Leicester at 4am, claiming that he has lost his memory.

Detective Inspector Monroe is charged with working out who the mystery man is with the help – or rather hindrance – of Robert’s wife, Julia, and his own wife, Samantha. But the deeper the Inspector digs, the more confused he becomes.

Maureen Nickson, who is directing the play, told Blog Preston: “Have to say I’m delighted to be back in the Director’s seat once again for the very talented Hall Players, with another hilarious comedy from the pen of David Tristram.

“Nigel Parsons reprises his role of the cynical, dishevelled, bad-tempered Inspector Monroe, last seen in our hilarious production of Searching for Dr Branovic.

“Trouble is, the deeper he digs, the more confused he gets, until he finds himself wrestling a plot with more twists than a buckled slinky.

“Rehearsals are going really well with much fun and laughter. The set is ready and the cast and crew are working really hard to bring this fast paced play on to the Playhouse stage – the only working theatre here in the heart of Preston.

“We hope the audience enjoys it as much as we have enjoyed bringing it onto the stage.”

Forget-Me-Knot is on at Preston Playhouse in Market Street West from Wednesday 29 January to Saturday 1 February.
