A Fulwood nursery is set to reopen just over two years after a devastating arson attack.
Highfield Priory Nursery and Preschool in Fulwood is finally set to reopen after the devastation left the nursery with temporary facilities and the old building to be demolished.
However, on 31 January, the Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire, Amanda Parker, will cut the ribbon and open Highfield’s new Nursery and Preschool building.

The newly constructed nursery has been designed to create a nurturing environment for young learners.
Jeremy Duke, the headmaster at Highfield, said: “The opening of our new nursery is a significant milestone for Highfield Priory School and the community as a whole.
“It not only reaffirms our commitment to providing high-quality Early Years education, but it also shows the commitment and dedication of our pupils, parents and staff who have shown their loyalty and resilience since the arson attack in 2022.”
There are said to be two large open rooms in the nursery containing facilities such as a canopied outdoor playing space to tailor to the Forest School children’s activities.
The nursery reopens thanks to the contributions from the local community, school governors, staff and the Rosslee building company.
