A popular bridge used by walkers has been claimed by a high-flowing river.

The wider Preston area is dealing with the aftermath of heavy rain overnight with roads, car parks and even a restaurant flooded this morning (1 January).

The weather warnings for rain, issued by the Met Office, have subsided but a new warning for ice is in place from this evening.
