Emergency services are at the scene of a crash involving five vehicles between Grimsargh and Longridge.

Traffic is backed up along Preston Road in both directions with police directing traffic.

The crash took place close to the Alston Lane turn by the Francos restaurant and the Alston Dairy – near the former White Bull pub.

Eyewitnesses report an SUV-type vehicle and four other cars involved.

Preston Road has heavy traffic back through Grimsargh result.

The crash took place around 5.30pm on Monday (6 January).

A police spokesperson said it was a ‘damage-only’ collision.
