A road in Lostock Hall has flooded as a result of heavy rain overnight.
Croston Road, close to the Anchor pub, is the regular site of flooding whenever heavy rain hits the region due to the dip in the road to go under the railway bridge.
Witnesses told Blog Preston, however, that the flooding this morning is ‘probably the worst I’ve seen there in over 25 years’.

The road has been taped off to prevent more traffic from travelling through but the top of a car can be seen poking over the flood water.
Elsewhere in South Ribble, Victoria Road and London Road have closures in place due to flood water at Walton-le-Dale.
Flood warnings remain in force this morning and a number of New Year’s Day events have been cancelled.
