Crash at snowy M6 and M55 junction shuts Broughton interchange

All lanes are shut on the M55 where it joins the M6 due to a crash.

Snowy conditions near the Broughton interchange have seen emergency services called to the motorway.

The lane closures are in place between the M55 westbound where you come off the M6 at Junction 32 and the M55 eastbound is completely shut.

National highways say the crash involves a lorry on the eastbound slip road on the M55.

Emergency services are at the scene and the closure is expected to be in place until around 9am on Sunday (5 January).

Snow has fallen across the motorway network in and around Preston and National Highways have a severe weather warning in place.
