A key road is closed, car parks submerged and a restaurant hit in Walton-le-Dale after heavy rain overnight.
Victoria Road and London Road in Walton-le-Dale have been closed by police from the bridge over the Ribble to the Yew Tree.
The car park at Riverside Medical Centre on Victoria Road is flooded while the River Darwen is high at Chorley Road.

Pinocchio’s Restaurant on Chorley Road has also flooded.
A spokesperson for police said: “We want to update you and let you know that we’re experiencing flooding in Walton Le Dale.
“Because of this we’ve had to close Victoria Road at the junction with the Yew Tree up to the bridge on London Road.
“We hope that the weather will clear soon but we’ll keep you up to date with what’s happening. If you need to report anything to us then you can do so on 101 or if someone is in immediate danger, then 999 is your line.”
Flood warnings remain in force this morning and a number of New Year’s Day events have been cancelled.
The Preston and South Ribble Flood Risk Management Scheme is due to begin phase 2 in Spring 2025. This sees the Environment Agency aim to improve the defences along the River Ribble and River Darwen in Walton-le-Dale.
