Preston’s new cinema will open its doors to the public next month, it has been confirmed.
The cinema is part of Preston’s £45m Animate leisure complex that will also include restaurants, a bowling and a street food hub on the site of the old indoor market and car park.
There will be eight screens at Arc Cinema with people heading to the cinema also being offered free parking.

Arc Cinema will open to the public for the first time on Friday, 21 February. This will follow the opening of the complex’s first restaurant on 17 February.
A spokesperson for Arc Cinema said: “We are thrilled to announce that The Arc Cinema will officially open its doors at Preston’s Animate on Friday 21 February. Our new signage, now prominently visible from the Ring Way, marks a significant milestone as we prepare to bring a premier cinematic experience to this vibrant city.
“The transformation of Preston’s city centre has been truly impressive, and we are honoured to be part of this regeneration. Being situated in such a landmark development, adjacent to the beautiful indoor market, places us at the heart of a thriving community.
“Our state-of-the-art cinema will feature luxury electric recliner seating in all auditoriums, as standard, ensuring maximum comfort for our guests. We are also excited to introduce HYPERSENSE, our premium large format screen, boasting Dolby Atmos® sound, 4K laser projection, and giant screens to pull you right into the heart of the action.
“To enhance the convenience for our patrons, we offer free parking at the Animate complex. We look forward to welcoming the people of Preston to enjoy the latest blockbusters and a truly immersive cinema experience.”
A spokesperson for The Arc Cinema confirmed cinema-goers will receive three hours of free parking in the Animate complex car park.
