An inspection by schooling regulator Ofsted has looked at how apprentices are being taught at the city’s university.
At the time of inspection, there were said to be almost 2,000 apprentices studying across 30 apprenticeships at levels 4 to 7.
Ofsted rated the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management.
UCLan’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Graham Baldwin said: “I’m delighted that our efforts in degree apprenticeships have been recognised by the Ofsted inspectors.”
The Ofsted report noted that UCLan apprentices benefit from high-quality training facilities, which could include their new £35 million Engineering Innovation Centre along with growing campuses from Burnley, Lancashire to Cyprus.
To contribute to and ensure apprentices’ success UCLan joined forces with Training 2000, one of the largest Group Training Associations in the UK. This means that they are set to become one of the leading providers of apprenticeships at all levels in the North-West.
Ofsted also reported that staff, who are a part of the colleague and student community at UCLan of 38,000, are highly qualified and experienced in their sectors.
Consequently, this reflects the university’s top 7% ranking worldwide according to the Centre for World University Rankings 2022-2023.
